Through our activities as a responsible forest manager, we contribute to the achievement of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Established in 2015, these SDGs have become the main reference for international efforts by governments, businesses and civil society to achieve a more just, equitable and impact-conscious world for the planet. They have naturally guided the development of our Group CSR policy.
COMMITMENT 1
Respect human rights, responsible governance and business ethics
In line with SDGs 5, 8, 13 and 16, we are committed to respecting the human rights of our employees and those of all our stakeholders, encouraging our partners to adopt practices and principles that converge with our own, observing strict ethical business conduct on a daily basis, and effectively combating corruption.
COMMITMENT 2
Valuing our employees and fostering community development
In line with SDGs 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 and 17, we are committed to implementing advanced measures to promote and preserve health and safety in the workplace, develop our employees’ capabilities and foster their personal fulfillment at work. Likewise, we actively contribute to the socio-economic development of our territories by prioritizing access to health, education and employment for young people and women.
COMMITMENT 3
Protecting the environment and preserving biodiversity
In line with SDGs 6, 14, 15 and 17, we are committed to protecting biodiversity, preventing and controlling pollution risks, implementing energy-saving measures and combating global warming, and fostering partnerships with public authorities and local stakeholders for programs with high environmental added value.
COMMITMENT 4
Valuing forest ecosystem services
As players in responsible forest management, we work on a daily basis to conserve biodiversity, preserve water resources and recreational services, maintain soils, and store and sequester carbon – all essential life-sustaining services provided by forests to society. We are therefore committed to promoting research and development in forest ecosystem services.
COMMITMENT 5
Limiting our carbon footprint by adopting an eco-responsible approach
In line with SDGs 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13 and 17, we are committed to assessing the carbon footprint of all our activities, optimizing the use of sustainable materials and renewable energies at all our sites, boosting the circular economy, promoting improvements in energy efficiency and strengthening our environmental performance through the development of research and innovation.
